Strategic Mega Investment and 2,000 Employment Initiative from AYD Automotive Industry to Konya NEXFREN Brake Technologies Investment
“This investment is not just a factory; it is a powerful signature of the Century of Türkiye rising from Anatolia.”
Konya, Türkiye – Harun Aydın, Chairman of the Board of AYD Automotive Industry, made statements regarding the new-generation production investments to be realized in Konya.
“We are not merely announcing an investment today. From the heart of Anatolia, from Konya, we are placing a strong signature on the Century of Türkiye. We are demonstrating our belief in our country, our trust in our state, and our commitment to our nation through a concrete step. This investment is a clear indication that the Century of Türkiye will be written through production, hard work, and determination,” said Aydın, emphasizing that the AYD NEXFREN investment will provide a strategic contribution to Türkiye’s industrial strength.
With over 50 years of experience in the automotive industry, AYD—born in the heart of Anatolia and grown into a global manufacturer—is now extending its leadership in the suspension segment to brake technologies. Investments to be realized in Konya 5th and 6th Organized Industrial Zones will initially create employment for 2,000 people.
These investments go far beyond a conventional production facility; they represent an integrated industrial initiative that carries Anatolia’s manufacturing power to the global stage. Today, AYD employs 4,500 people and operates one of the world’s largest integrated production facilities. With the planned investments, it aims to establish one of the world’s largest production infrastructures in brake technologies in Konya. The announced 2,000-person investment marks the first decisive step of this major journey.
Highlighting the economic and strategic impact of the investments, Aydın stated: “These investments are part of the Century of Türkiye’s vision for economic independence. While aiming for global leadership in the brake segment, our key priorities are to reduce external dependency, prevent imports, and contribute to closing the current account deficit. We produce in Anatolia, for Türkiye, and sell to the world. Türkiye will benefit. These investments will also stand as a new and powerful example of what Anatolia can achieve, as well as the success story our country has built over the past 20 years.”
Emphasizing their position at the center of global competition, Aydın added the following regarding competition with China: “Today, we are in one of the most fiercely competitive areas of the global automotive industry. We are in strong competition with China, and we will take this competition even further. By combining quality, speed, and cost discipline, we will not only survive but move ahead. The Century of Türkiye represents the ambition to have a strong voice in global competition.”
Stating that their investment determination continues despite challenging global conditions, Aydın said: “There are wars and economic fluctuations around the world. But the people of Anatolia do not step back—and neither do we. We trust these lands. We believe in the production power of this nation. The Century of Türkiye will be shaped by those who continue to produce despite difficulties.”
Aydın concluded his remarks with the following words: “This investment rising from Konya is not only a guarantee for today but also for the future. We grew up on these lands; we gained strength thanks to this country. Now it is time to do more. We produce for Türkiye, and we produce in Türkiye. We will continue with determination to realize investments worthy of the Century of Türkiye, create employment, and carry our country toward a stronger future.”
